SheSTEM
Shattering ceilings, breaking barriers.
a campaign by Rhea Gupta
As we celebrate the achievements of women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields, it is crucial to acknowledge that women and girls continue to be underrepresented in these fields. SheStem Campaign is a movement that aims to promote diversity, inclusivity, and gender equity in STEM.
The campaign recognizes that everyone deserves the opportunity to participate in and benefit from advancements in STEM. Yet, women and girls have been historically underrepresented in STEM fields, especially in leadership positions. The gender gap persists in STEM education, where women are less likely to pursue and succeed in STEM fields because of societal and cultural barriers.
The campaign also recognizes the importance of role models and representation in STEM and features the stories of women in STEM who have overcome obstacles and barriers to pave the way for the next generation of women in STEM.
By raising awareness about the need for diversity and inclusivity in STEM, the campaign aims to inspire, encourage, and support girls to pursue their passion in STEM. This campaign partners with organizations, institutions, and industries to advocate for policies and practices that promote gender equity in STEM fields.
